Grieving The Trees

In this gathering, hosted in collaboration with the New Old Time Chatauqua, we will hold space for grief, in various forms of expression, around the rapid degradation of our old growth and legacy forests. Bring forest-honoring art to share, or supplies you might want to use (repurposed materials encouraged). Please arrive promptly and plan to stay the full duration.

This gathering is facilitated by Alex Eisenberg. Having lived next to active clearcuts over the past four years in her last two homes, Alex is intimately aware of the devastation wrought by these practices, and the pain of witnessing it. For the past decade, Alex has also been apprenticing to the work of grief tending under the tutelage of Laurence Cole (among others) and a ritual that was gifted by the Dagara people of Burkina Faso and adapted for our cultural realities.

Masks encouraged and provided.
